Delete Your Lawnzie Account

This page explains how to permanently delete your Lawnzie account and what happens to your data. Lawnzie is operated by Lawnzie LLC, 419 Clay St, Mooresville, NC 28115.

Option 1 — Delete from inside the app (fastest)

  1. Open the Lawnzie app on your iOS or Android device.
  2. Sign in if you aren't already.
  3. Tap the Profile tab.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  5. Confirm when prompted. Your account is deleted immediately and you are signed out.

If you don't see the Delete Account option, make sure you are on the latest version of the app.

Option 2 — Request deletion by email

Email support@lawnzie.com from the email address on your Lawnzie account with the subject "Account Deletion Request." Include:

  • Your full name on the account
  • The email address used for sign-in
  • Your account role (Homeowner or Contractor)

We verify ownership of the email address before deletion and confirm in writing once complete. Email requests are processed within 5 business days.

What gets deleted

  • Account profile — name, email, phone, password, profile photo, bio, service categories, service area
  • Authentication credentials — including any linked Google, Microsoft, or Apple sign-in identities
  • Messages — your chat history with other users
  • Reviews and ratings you posted
  • Imported contacts — for contractors who imported their customer book, the imported contact rows tied to your account
  • Job posts, quote requests, and quotes you authored (subject to the retention exceptions below)
  • Push notification tokens and device identifiers tied to your account
  • Location data tied to your account (service area, job-site coordinates)

What we retain — and for how long

A small amount of data is retained after deletion where the law requires us to keep it, or where it has been irreversibly de-identified.

  • Account record (soft-delete buffer) — up to 30 days after your deletion request, then permanently removed. This brief window lets us undo accidental deletions if you contact us.
  • Transaction and tax records — completed jobs, invoices, payments, payouts, and refunds processed through Lawnzie are retained for 7 years for tax and legal compliance. Wherever possible these records are de-identified from your account after deletion.
  • Background-check records (Contractors only) — the fact and date of a background check are retained for 7 years as required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The full report itself is held by the consumer reporting agency (Checkr), not by Lawnzie.
  • Anti-fraud and abuse signals — limited records (hashed identifiers, IP-derived signals) may be retained to prevent the creation of new accounts in violation of our Terms.
  • Aggregate, de-identified analytics — usage statistics retained for up to 24 months (aggregate) and 14 months (event-level in Google Analytics) cannot be re-associated with you after deletion.

What deletion does NOT undo

  • Payments already processed — completed Stripe Connect transfers cannot be reversed by deleting your account. If you need a refund, use the in-app dispute flow or contact support@lawnzie.com before deleting.
  • Information visible to the other party in a completed transaction — for example, a Contractor you paid still has a record of the job you hired them for, because that record is also theirs.

Deletion is permanent. If you only want a break from notifications, you can disable push notifications in the app's Profile settings without deleting your account.
